CONWAY, Ark. (April 19, 2017) – Two ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ computer science
students Eric Huynh ’18 and Lj Leuchovius ’17 presented their undergraduate research
at the 15th Annual Consortium for Computing Sciences in Colleges
Mid-South Conference held earlier this month at Lyon College in Batesville,
Arkansas.
Huynh presented Real-time Imitation of Visual Behavior by
a Mobile Robot. In this work, advised by Dr. Gabriel Ferrer, he
demonstrated that human subjects without programming skills could teach a robot
equipped with a novel machine learning algorithm to avoid obstacles
autonomously.
Leuchovius presented The Complexity of Kirby. In this
work, advised by Dr. Brent Yorgey, he proved new theoretical results about the
difficulty of constructing a winning strategy for the video game Kirby.
