Senior Computer Science Students Score Diversity Scholarships

CONWAY, Ark. (December 12, 2012) - ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ computer science students Kaleigh Clary '14 and Andres Ramirez '13 are the recipients of the 2012 Diversity Scholarships from Acxiom Corp.

The new Diversity Scholarship program provides a $5,000 award and one-year internship opportunity for student segments - women, minorities, veterans and individuals with disabilities -who are under-represented in the field of information technology. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, field of study and areas of professional interest.

"I'm excited that Kaleigh will get to apply her several research experiences as she works with Acxiom's innovation team, and I'm excited that Andres will be able to expand his experience from beyond the several projects he has completed in classes here to Acxiom's real-world projects," said ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ computer science professor Dr. Carl Burch. "Several excellent computer science students from ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ applied for this scholarship, and we're happy that Acxiom recognized this by awarding two of their five scholarships to worthy ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ recipients despite our small enrollments compared to the area universities."
